A Visit from the Past— Jeff Williams & Family

August 12, 2026

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming member Jeff Williams, his wife, and family back to the firehouse for a special visit and a walk down memory lane.

Jeff grew up on Carson Drive, where he lived from second grade through college. In November 1967, shortly after turning 18, Jeff officially became a member of the fire company.

Jeff was active with the Company through the late 1960s and into the 1970s. After getting married in September 1972, he and his wife lived in Skippack and later Norristown. During his years with the Company, Jeff also served for a period as Company Treasurer.

The firehouse was also a familiar place for Jeff's wife, who was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. As they walked through the station, she quickly began recognizing little details throughout the firehouse that remain unchanged after all these years—a reminder that while much has evolved, pieces of our past are still very much present.

As the years went on, Jeff gradually became less active with the Company by the mid-1980s. In 1986, he and his family moved to Chicago. Today, Jeff resides outside of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

During the visit, Jeff and his family were able to tour the firehouse and see how much has changed since his days as an active member, including the firehouse addition completed in 2001.

The visit became even more special when Jeff had the opportunity to catch up with his longtime friend and fellow member Joe Hallman. After so many years, the two were able to spend some time together at the firehouse, reconnecting and reminiscing about the people, calls, and stories from years gone by.

There was something special about watching old friends stand together in the same firehouse where so many of those memories began.

The apparatus changes. The equipment changes. The building grows. But the friendships, memories, and traditions created within these walls can last a lifetime.

We are proud of the generations of members who came before us and helped shape the Company we have today. Visits like this remind us that our history isn't simply something kept in old photographs, records, or meeting minutes—it's carried by the people who lived it.

Thank you to Jeff and his family for stopping by and sharing a piece of that history with us. The doors will always be open to those who helped make our firehouse what it is today.
